5 all new courses!
For the first time that we are aware of, the Lemurian is offering up 5 courses to make sure there is something for everyone. From a course that will challenge any pro, to a course that someone who has just gotten into the sport will be comfortable on, we should have something for everyone, as long as everyone loves epic singletrack! Check out the routes below, and pick one that you want to race. Please keep in mind that the Pro/Expert Course will have a cutoff time at Stoney Gulch.
Expert & Pro Course
33.5 miles & 4,300 ft
Gone are the days of climbing the escalator twice, yeah we know it’s a great climbing trail, but 25 miles into a brutal race it can be a real mind F to climb it a second time. Instead, we are sending you all the way out Princes Ditch to Oak Knoll. This adds an all new descent and climb up Mule Ridge which offers up some of the best views around. Not that you will be appreciating them as you will no doubt be suffering pretty good at this point.
Another big change to the Pro/Expert route is the removal of the Enticer Jump trail. Instead you will travers across Wintu Yemer to get back to the finish line. Speaking of which, we have moved the finish line to the same location as the start. This will allow for better spectating and the chance for a sprint finish!
These changes, combined with the changes to the other courses, will greatly minimize our pro and expert riders from having to pass sport or beginner riders!
Cut Off Time
This year we are implementing a cutoff time of 2 hours and 55 minutes at mile 17.2 which is at the bottom of K’ulu:l. This is just under a 6 mile an hour pace. Racers that do not make the cutoff time will be sent up K’ulu:l and instructed to follow the sport course back to the finish.
E-Bike Course
22.3 miles & 3,050 ft
Our new E-bike course will test your skills and your battery. A mix of the sport route and expert route, we feel this will offer up enough of a challenge to keep our racers with a motor happy!
Sport Course
17 miles & 2,200 ft
The new sport course excludes trip through Buckhollow to eliminate two way traffic on a small but fast section of Mule Town road. Sport riders will continue past the Igo trail climb and instead climb up the new, mellower, K’ulu:l trail! The final change comes at the end of the course, where you will no longer climb Owens, but instead climbed the very lower section of Enticer to the Homesteader trail. After descending back down to the event area of past years, you will continue on to Delano drive on the Clear Creek Ditch trail and back to the start which now doubles as the finish line. This will allow for better spectating and a sprint finish!
Short Sport Course
9.5 miles & 1,200 ft
The new “Short Sport” course is very similar to our “Short” course of years past. The only major difference is you do not climb Owens to Enticer. As with all of the other courses, you will finish on Delano Drive at the same place you started. This allows for better spectating and a sprint finish!
